Join us for an event of learning, reflection, and recognition as we honor the courageous men and women who fought for freedom and whose stories are vital to understanding the full history of our nation.

March 15, 3:00 PM at The Umbrella Arts Center: “A Fight for Freedom: Honoring Patriots of Color” is a two-hour live event dedicated to uncovering and honoring the often-overlooked contributions of Black and Indigenous patriots both during the American Revolution and the long struggle for continued expansion of freedom and liberty over the past 250 years.

Join us for an event of learning, reflection, and recognition as we honor the courageous men and women who fought for freedom and whose stories are vital to understanding the full history of our nation.

On Saturday, March 15 at 3:00 PM: “A Fight for Freedom: Honoring Patriots of Color” is a two-hour live event dedicated to uncovering and honoring the often-overlooked contributions of Black and Indigenous patriots both during the American Revolution and the long struggle for continued expansion of freedom and liberty over the past 250 years. Hosted at the Umbrella Arts Center, 40 Stow Street.

Their bravery and resilience remind us that the struggle for freedom has always been fought by people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Join us for a fundraiser on Sunday, February 2nd at 3 pm at the Fenn School to help raise money for Altadena Fire Relief. This is a free event and open to the public. Celebrate the opening of the Ellen Garrison Buildi

Celebrate the opening of the Ellen Garrison Building at the Concord Middle School with a special day for students, families, and the community.

Come visit The Robbins House over February vacation as we honor Ellen Garrison’s legacy of teaching and celebrate the opening of the Ellen Garrison Building at the Concord Middle School. Have you ever wondered what games children played in 19th-century Concord? Now’s your chance to find out!

Swing by The Robbins House on Wednesday, February 19th from 11-1 am for a morning of games and crafts. Play a game of Pass the Slipper, Blindman’s Bluff, a Game of Graces and make a whirligig to take home. Take a tour of The Robbins House and rediscover the stories of Caesar Robbins, Susan and Ellen Garrison and their families and how they fought for equality and justice throughout their lives. No registration required. Free and open to the public.

Commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s civil rights legacy
and Henry David Thoreau’s legacy at the Walden
Pond Visitor Center. Join an interactive panel led by Concord
historian Richard Smith and The Robbins House President
Nikki Turpin to discuss the influence of Thoreau’s essay
Civil Disobedience on activists King and Gandhi and current
acts of civil unrest.

This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Walden Pond, The Thoreau Society, and The Robbins House.The program is free however, parking fees apply all year round.
